UPP SYSTEMS—Underground Fuel Pipes |

|
UPP Systems Underground fuel pipe for use in fuel stations and the fuel industry. UPP Underground Fuel Pipe Product Summary: · Upgraded polyethylene pipe · Tough, specially formulated nylon liner · Zero or near zero permeation · Available in a variety of diameters · Available in straight lengths or coils Complete range of fittings is available |
|
Underground Fuel Pipe Construction:
The intermediate layer is a tie-layer (adhesive) which permanently bonds the polyethylene layer to the polyamide layer
The yellow inner barrier layer of UPP Extra pipe is specially formulated "fuel proof" Polyamide (nylon) which displays exceptional resistance to absorbtion and permeation of both gasoline and alcohol fuel blends. The smooth bore and low friction loss of UPP Extra pipe permits fuel and vapour flows at higher velocities than steel pipe work as a result of lower hydraulic losses.
UPP underground fuel pipe utilizes a Standard Dimensional Ration Design of 11 and is pressure rated to 10 bar (150 psi) at 20?C. Rupture pressure is typically 40 bar (600 psi) providing a generous margin of safety. There is no requirement for a concrete trench because fusion welded HDPE pipe has no joints and is structurally resistant to weight of backfill material and dynamic traffic loads. Over 20 years experience shows no failures in underground fuel pipe systems and no loss into the ground.
Approvals: UPP Systems have received a large number of approvals from worldwide authorities and environment agencies, probably more than any other similar system. The entire UPP product range is manufactured under the British Standard EN ISO 9001 quality system conditions, and is independently tested to meet Institute of Petroleum (UK) and Underwriters Laboratories Inc (US) performance standards. In addition, UPP products are continually monitored by the ERA FUELSTAR surveillance scheme set up by third party testing lab, ERA, in conjunction with the Institute of Petroleum and Shell. |
